what the notice means
- phrz can't reach its license server
- The internet works, but something on your computer or network is blocking phrz.
- phrz couldn't verify its license
- Something other than phrz's server answered — usually security software that scans HTTPS, or a sign-in page on a hotel or office network.
what to check
- firewall app
- In Little Snitch, Windows Defender Firewall or similar, allow your DAW (for example Ableton Live or Logic Pro) to connect to the addresses below. phrz runs inside your DAW, so there is no separate phrz app.
- VPN
- Turn the VPN off and open the phrz window again. If the notice goes away, add your DAW or the addresses below to the VPN's exclusions (split tunneling).
- security software
- Web protection or HTTPS scanning stops phrz from checking its server. Add the addresses below to the app's exceptions.
- router security features
- Threat protection, parental controls or DNS filtering can block the addresses below. Allow them there. If phrz activates on your phone's hotspot, the network is blocking it.
After you change a setting, close the phrz window and open it again.
addresses to allow
phrz uses these addresses, all over HTTPS (port 443).

activate in a browser
If you can't change these settings — an office network, or a computer that stays offline — activate phrz in a browser on any phone or computer.
- In phrz, click activate in a browser. phrz shows a code for this computer.
- Open the page below, enter the code and sign in with your phrz account.
- Paste the license into phrz and click use this license. A saved file opens with open phrz-license.txt.

That computer then works without going online, and counts as one of your 3 computers.
